A bountiful week 2 is in store for the fall shares. Have I mentioned that I just love this time of year for both packing the boxes and eating? Perhaps it’s the simple fact that life slows down just a bit from summer, the nights come earlier, and the warmth of the oven and stove feel wonderful. It is supposed to get quite chilly tonight and I’m not sure if the salad will survive outside. Time will tell, but the spinach will be available regardless.

The boys and I took advantage of having our first week of less demands from the farm. We drove out to South Dakota and went camping for a week. We had a great time exploring the Badlands, Custer State Park area, and Wind Cave National Park. Lots of wildlife were seen and captured on camera…the buffalo are so majestic and beautiful to watch living in the wild. We also took a tour of a wild horse sanctuary which was very interesting and we were able to touch some wild mustangs. Ethan keeps asking when we’re going back so I guess he really enjoyed the trip.  Ashlan earned his junior ranger badges at the national parks and has an interest in going to more parks to attain more badges. I have really enjoyed sharing my love of travel and exploring with the boys and hope to keep this tradition going.

We still have 1# tubes of our pasture-raised beef available for anyone interested. 20# of burger fits within a half share box to give you an idea of how much freezer space this takes up. Our sale price is still $100 for the 20#.
