I love the comfort foods and warmth of the oven in the fall. If you haven’t ever had kale chips, I highly recommend it since it is a recipe that is just too easy and delicious for eaters of all ages. I think Ethan ate a whole pound of kale chopped up into chips last night! He is proving to be a lover of many veggies which is good because he is opting out of eating most meat these days. Ashlan on the other hand will eat Ethan’s unwanted meat portion, so they make a good team at the table.
I sent out an email earlier today about the availability of extra eggs. I have plenty during the winter months to sell extra dozens for those winter baking and holiday cooking needs. Just drop me a note. I’ll set your eggs on your csa boxes at the pick-up sites. Send the money at your convenience.
This week contains the last of the butternut squash and acorn squash. We will have buttercup and baby blue hubbard squash in the upcoming fall shares.
I didn’t get the camera out in the garden this week for the harvest. It was rainy and cool on Tuesday and I was very happy to have a heater in the pizza kitchen where I weighed out the box portions. We managed to get over 4″ of rain during the last weather system that blew through. It seems the days of a little shot of rain here and there are over.
