It’s starting to feel a bit like summer! The last day of school for my boys is finally tomorrow and we are regularly hanging out at Ashlan’s t-ball practice and games. The plants in the garden have even started to jump in their growth this week. Yeah!
The soil is still very wet, but we are trying to make a good dent in all the baby weeds that are growing. Forecast looks better for the week and the newly seeded crops have popped out of the ground from last week.
Six baby runner ducks and 50 new baby chicks all arrived this morning as well. We’re looking forward to having these fun little critters in our outside pens as soon as they start to feather up a bit. The feeder pigs are nestled into their new home in the back part of the garden. We will have some extra 1/2 hogs to sell this fall. Let me know if you are interested. We were very happy incorporating the pigs into the garden rotation last year and love their natural tilling ability, not to mention the fertility they add to the soil.
Pizza Schedule:
We are now open BOTH Thursdays and Fridays, 4:30-9pm until the end of August. In September, we will be open only on Friday nights.
This Thursday, Mike Munson will join us for some live music from 6-9pm. Sunshine is forecasted for both Thursday and Friday this week!
Until next time,
Eat Well. Smile Often.
Your Farmer,
Heather
