From little pints of tomatoes to bulging bags of tomatoes…they certainly have begun to roll in this week!  We harvested over 350# of tomatoes on Monday and Tuesday. The oven was kept hot Tuesday evening and night as we pushed 200# of tomatoes through the oven so they can turn into the base of our many roasted tomato items we offer in our winter shares. Enjoy a fresh tomato salad to savor the flavors, colors, and textures of the varieties you received this week.

Green beans are also here in full capacity. Nice tender fillet beans stock your boxes this week. Perhaps a green bean and tomato salad with a light dressing is on your menu?  We will be serving an item like this for our next wedding on the farm this weekend, for our lovely wedding couple Elias and Linnea. We are catering the full menu for their wedding showcasing many of our fresh seasonal veggies, oh and of course pizza!

I know the boxes are abundant this time of year and I’ve tried to give you lots of inspiration for your tables this week. There are so many wonderful veggies to eat that I’m having a hard time finding space for any meat at our table. Part of our seasonal eating also includes eating less meat in the summer, and eating from the freezer more in the winter.

Wood-Fired Pizza Schedule…

Open both Thursdays and Fridays thru the end of August, 4:30-9pm. This Thursday evening, we have live music with Mike Munson from 6-9pm.

Eat Well. Smile Often.

Your Farmer,

Heather
