This is peak season folks! The food is rolling in and I hope your plates are full of color and flavors of the season.
The beans are back with purple flair, but in smaller quantities. If you cook them, they’ll turn green so you may want to utilize their pizzazz by creating a fresh bean salad.
This week we picked roughly 250# of tomatoes with roughly 40#+ of blemished ones. The wood-fired oven has been hot firing pans and pans of chopped tomatoes which are being created into soups and spaghetti sauces for the winter. The little bit of charring with the wood-fire turns these blems into something quite wonderful.
The sweet corn was picked this morning and so enjoy the sweetness and freshness in a meal TONIGHT! Fresh picked corn is like no other and don’t let the sweet flavor go to waste by letting it sit in the fridge for days.
In the mood for pizza, we have our last Thursday and Friday pizza nights for the rest of August and then will be switching to ONLY Fridays come September. The next live music event is this Thursday, August 18th with County Road G Band from 6-9pm. Pizzas are hot from 4:30-9pm. We also have several seasonal inspirations to choose along with your classic creations.
Until next time…
