CSA Delivery Update: This is the last week for our (odd) week Summer CSA members. Next week is the last week for ALL of our Summer CSA members. There is no CSA delivery on Wed, Sept 25th.  Fall CSA deliveries will begin on Wed, Oct 2nd and then will be every 2 weeks for a total of 5 deliveries.

Finally, we have some potatoes to add to the shares. The ground is very hard and dry and makes hand digging them quite a chore. We’ve tried to wait for rain to help out the process, but we will have to irrigate them in order to more easily bring in the bulk of the crop. There is a variety of Yukon Golds and Mountain Rose (pink skin and insides) potatoes this week.

Next week, we will have sunshine watermelon in the boxes. I am including one of these watermelon for our odd members this week so that they can have a taste of these too. *Remember, this is the last week for our odd week only summer members. Otherwise, we have another cantaloupe in the box this week.

A beautiful bounty of peppers highlights the box. The thick walled, delicious masterpieces are definitely showstoppers in my book. I love to eat them any way. If there is more than you can handle, you can always roast them and preserve them, or simply cut them up and put them in the freezer without blanching as they keep well.

Last busyness for the week is our final preparations for our wedding this weekend. As things on the list keep getting checked off, I really am excited for the special day that is quickly approaching. And bonus, the weather does look lovely for Saturday!

Last Month for Wood-Fired Pizza…

We are now only open Fridays thru the end of September, 4:30-9pm. Our live music on Friday, September 13th will be by the Crooked Willow Band from 6-9pm.

Eat Well. Smile Often.

Your Farmer,

Heather
