It’s always amazing how quickly things shift gears in the garden. From the peas just turning on last week, to a full on plethora of peas just screaming to be picked this week, you’ll have to enjoy their short-lived bounty. The sugar snap peas are one crop that takes quite a bit of time to pick, but we do it because we know you love them so much.

To assist in the workload this week, both boys have the week of daycare off and are sharing time on the farm. Ashlan was a great helper in the pick n’ pack CSA day while Ethan enjoyed time at the Schaffner farm. Ash picked all the cucumbers this week, helped fold boxes, counted and packed many bunches of beets, and the list goes on. He’s developing into quite the farmer.

Now today, it’s Ethan’s turn to help on the farm and he’s on a scavenger hunt to find all the herbs for the herb shares while Ashlan enjoys the day fishing up north with his grandpa, uncle Ray and aunt Carol. The joys of summer! There’s so much fun activity buzzing around and we’re loving every minute of it. I hope you all had an enjoyable 4th of July weekend and are savoring the summer days.
