It has been wonderful to have an intern still be here through the end of the season to help finish off a bunch of fall tasks as the weather begins to change. We are busy trying to bring in the last of the storage items in from the field and find space for them all in the walk-in cooler. New plantings of spinach and greens are being tended too to keep us fed this winter. Greenhouse spaces are being cleaned and prepped for next year’s plantings. And soon, the garlic will be planted in an attempt to start growing new stock for our rebuilding of our seed stock which was greatly reduced this year due to high loss over the last winter.
As the lights wains and a chill creeps in, our interest in cooking resumes as it feels good to have soup pots and the oven warming the house. If you experience a recipe you love, please share it with me and I can pass it along with our other members. Happy Cooking!
